Topgolf planning Natomas location, says Councilmember Talamantes

Talamantes said in an interview Monday she couldn't share the planned location for Topgolf, saying it would be up to the Dallas-based company to share. Topgolf's press team said in an email the company had nothing to share at this point.
Talamantes' post said Topgolf would be in South Natomas, generally thought of as south of Interstate 80 and north of the confluence of the American and Sacramento rivers. The post said Topgolf would be two stories and have 80 bays, drawing a quarter million visitors a year.
Topgolf previously explored a Natomas location about five or six years ago, Talamantes said, but talks stopped because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
"It's something that's been on my mind, and I wanted them to continue," she said. Natomas has the population, economic demographics, diversity and growth that make it a good fit for Topgolf, she said.
Talamantes said Topgolf would share more information and take community feedback at an open house at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 21 at 2450 Venture Oaks Way. Renderings of the future site would also be shown then.
Exact timing for opening Topgolf in Natomas is still to be determined, she said, with the company taking feedback from residents before submitting a formal development proposal.
"For this project to come in here, have a family friendly activity where people can walk to it, is just terrific," Talamantes said.
The company opened its first and so far only location in the Sacramento region in Roseville in 2016 at 1700 Freedom Way. Talamantes said she toured that site last week and was impressed by the company's culture and hiring process, which she described as unique.he popular chain of driving ranges that include food, drinks and a sports bar — is planning a Natomas location, according to Sacramento City Councilmember Karina Talamantes.
Talamantes, who represents South Natomas and part of North Natomas, announced in a Facebook post Monday morning that the Dallas-based company is planning a 58,000-square-foot venue in the area.
"This new 58,000-square-foot venue will generate 250+ new jobs and contribute approximately 15 million dollars in economic growth to our community," Talamantes said in the post, adding the project is in early stages. "This project has been several years in the making, starting when I was Chief of Staff to our now Senator Angelique Ashby and now, here we are with this tee-rrific news!"
